Pastry Chef, Melinda Brown graduated from The International Culinary School at The Art ¬†Institute in 2009, Melinda has worked in a local bakery until she decided to go out on her own. The dream of opening up her own bakery, has been a dream of hers since she was a child. She has grown up in the kitchen. She learned from her mother and grandmother what it took to bake and has been in “love” ever since.

Brown Sugar started as an “in-home” bakery and has grown to have its very own retail space! Opening its doors in February 2012; it serves the Pleasant View area as its own bakery.
